One of our most significant and far-reaching recent partnerships has been with Gala, the Irish convenience store chain owned by nine wholesalers, and with over 200 Symbol Group franchises nationwide.

Part of the challenge was to develop a fully centralised system for fresh food to avoid availability issues for retailers. Celtrino designed, built and supported an automated solution through the entire network, from ordering to delivery to invoicing. It helped the Gala group better manage service levels, financial reporting, costs to goods, as well as invoicing.

From a retailers’ perspective the results have been equally transformational. It’s now just one order, one delivery; saving staff valuable time to focus on the business instead of time consuming supplier management activities as they would have done in the past.

And from a suppliers’ point of view, the system has proved easy to manage and allows for new products to be easily added to the system, with retailers able to order them within 24 hours. In essence, the system has created an invaluable online product brochure, providing full visibility and control for suppliers.
